Minneapolis, Minn.-based Austin Mutual Insurance Co. recently announced that it had added Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPL) to its businessowners program
The company said that the added EPL insurance will be offered to eligible businessowner clients, making coverage and risk management services available to employers who want easy and affordable protection against employee claims.
“Employment Practices Liability coverage has evolved from a high-priced option for large employers to an affordable necessity for all businesses,” said Stacy Olson, vice president of Business Development. “In today’s workplace, small businessowners must defend themselves against damaging employment claims.
Austin Mutual’s employment practices liability program provides coverage and services that are specially designed and priced for smaller businesses. Coverage is offered as part of its businessowners policies for eligible clients with up to 50 employees but the coverage is also available to businesses with ten or fewer employees.
The program, effective March 1, 2008, includes automatic coverage of $100,000 with the option to increase on eligible new and renewal policies. It provides an online loss prevention program, dedicated EPL claim specialists and access to experienced employment law firms.
