Governor Larry Hogan has appointed Joy Hatchette to the Maryland Commission on Aging, in which she will be one of 13 members appointed by the Governor who work to review programs and activities for older adults and recommend programs to Maryland Secretary of Aging Rona Kramer.
Hatchette currently serves as the associate commissioner for consumer education and advocacy for the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA), where she is responsible for overseeing outreach to consumers so that they can better understand their rights and obligations under their insurance policies.
Prior to that role, she served as an assistant attorney general for the MIA from 2003 until 2007 and associate commissioner for consumer complaints at the MIA from 1997 until 2004.
