Fort Worth-based independent insurance agency Higginbotham & Associates named brokers Tami Rodgers and Scott Shapard to its managing director team for 2007.
Higginbotham appoints its brokers to managing directors who fulfill one of three criteria: they exceed $1 million in annual new business revenue; manage one of the agency’s five branch offices; and/or specialize in a product or service. The agency’s board directors look to the 25 managing directors for insight on industry trends, best practices and employee management, among other strategic directives, the company said.
Rodgers, a commercial property and casualty broker, manages the accounts for many of Higginbotham’s most complex domestic and international clients. Her prior work at AON/Alexander & Alexander, where she marketed large national accounts, primed her with the carrier relationships, underwriting skills and coverage knowledge for which she was named a managing director at Higginbotham. Rodgers joined Higginbotham as a commercial marketing manager in 2000 and became a broker for the agency in 2002.
Shapard, an employee benefits broker, leads Higginbotham’s Worksite Benefits unit, enabling employers to offer voluntary insurance products to supplement employees’ core benefits plans. A 1991 Texas Christian University graduate, Shapard provided administrative services, internet enrollment and worksite benefits plans to Texas public school systems before joining Higginbotham in 2003.
