FM Global, the Johnston, R.I.-headquartered business property insurer and Rhode Island’s largest private company, said this week it is planning to add 36 new information technology positions at its corporate offices.
FM Global said it is seeking software engineers, business analysts and quality assurance engineers to work in three areas: application development; information technology security; and data analytics. The company currently employs 420 IT professionals worldwide, with 360 of them based in Johnston, R.I.
FM Global said these new positions are among more than 300 employee hires that the company has made during the last five years in Rhode Island. FM Global employs 5,100 people in 67 offices worldwide — 1,000 of whom work in Johnston, R.I., and at its research campus in West Glocester, R.I.
“Our technology solutions play an integral part in helping to develop robust risk management programs worldwide for our clients,” said Jeanne Lieb, senior vice president of information services at FM Global. “As we embark on building the next generation of our operating platforms, we need savvy IT professionals who are comfortable working with leading-edge technology and have demonstrated the ability to develop enterprise-level software.”
